SA Award Criteria & Rules.

Above all, it has to be the perfect design. All web design possibilities utilized in an elegant/creative manner. Please remember, the design is not the prime criterion for this award. Contents and graphic work has to cover at least 80% of your site contents.

The complete impression has to be pleasant, and the sites having exquisite design will take precedence. Your site must have contents, not only links. Please have in mind that all the links will go through an intensive check-up. If we come across dead links, you will qualify for a lesser award. Broken icons or broken links… Can anyone put up with broken icons on excellent design sites? Broken icons would disqualify your site at once.

Your site must be Submitting to ten leading search machines.  Any kind of violence, racism, hatred or heavy-duty politics, would disqualify your site. What is more, any kind of links to similar sites would make you disqualified. Submitting Adult websites OK but has to be within good taste. Child Pornography, child abuse, child exploitation and such will be reported NO EXCEPTION!

Since the jury members can understand English fluently, it is necessary to create your site in English language, or at least there should be an English language as an option. You should also pay attention to grammar structure and language style.

Your site should be fast loading in a timely manner. Therefore, the optimized graphic work, text and background are preferred, however not at the cost of diminishing quality. The site must be on your server/domain. That makes you fully in charge of your site design/content. Unfortunately, free servers domain, may be quite restrictive, and should not participate in the award nomination. 

Too many consoles/adds, banners etc, will disqualify your site at once. Your website will be checked with a few browser types (i.e. Netscape and Internet Explored, MSN and AOL) Page loading will be compared with the page content. Artistic/intensive graphic work would normally require somewhat slower loading, which will be acceptable to a point.

Your site must carry its own story (i.e. "About us" or "About this site" or what is it exactly you do or sell).  It should invoke emotions, thoughts, positive energy or at least a knowledge base. Site navigation must be simple, elegant, creative and useful. It must enable all visitors to surf through the pages easily. The sites leading visitors astray will no be considered for our award and will be disqualified. SmartAss Award is available to Internet services, single users, commercial sites, servers, software, hardware companies and Internet systems, and all internet/web related. 

 We will notify all applicants whether they have won the award or not. Those who failed to win the award; you may resubmit your sites after an adequate upgrade.

We will notify you within a week. Winners will be presented with the site name, link and site description, under the special awarded section.  The winners will receive the award graphic, and bear no responsibility/obligation to link us back, but if done it would be appreciated!
